Finally after all these years of "cheating" when it came to lightning photography by recording video clips and extracting lightning via still images, I have been able to capture an actual photo of lightning, and a good one at that. A 30 second exposure helped in this as a dying storm spit out a few of these babies on the back side. Can't wait for more!

Someone once said that lightning is like a tear in the sky and through it you can see
into heaven where everything is golden. Part of me has thought of lightning in that
way every since.
